Player Evaluations
 
Coach Joe Fontana is currently preparing written evaluations for each rostered player.  Between now and Director's Cup, we will meet with each induvidual player and discuss physical skills, tactical skills, attitude, etc.  Our analysis will also include training objectives and how we will focus on improving areas where improvement is required.  We will discuss how the player's strengths can be properly utilized to improve team play. 
 
We will encourage feedback from the player about how he feels about his abilities and give him an opprortunity to evaluate himself and his contributions to the team.  The players should be relaxed and open minded during this process.  We are all working together to get better. 

 

Olympic Development Program (ODP)
 
Each year, Professional STYSA and Collegeate Coaches and Trainers hold ODP tryouts for elite players in South Texas.  Players are chosen to train in a pool of players, and play Friendlies against ODP players from other States within Region III (Southeastern United States). 
 
From this pool, some of the players are selected to advance to the Region III camp in Alabama for more training and games against players from across the United States.
 
We are proud that four of our players have been placed into the South Texas pool.
